I am a 30 year old graduate student who still lives at home with his parents and wants to get his life back on track and become independent. Somewhere along the road of life I stopped caring where I was going or how I was going to get there, and then my life stalled. After living at home through most of my twenties (I did manage to move out for about 4 years after I graduated from high school, but then moved back home) I feel like I've been missing out on the best of what life has to offer.
I want this blog to chronicle my life as it is now and as I try and set new goals for myself and learn how to live on my own again. I want this blog to be a positive place, a place about hope for the future.
The title of the blog is inspired by a line from the 64th chapter of the Tao Te Ching, where it says (translation by Mitchell):
The giant pine tree
grows from a tiny sprout.
The journey of a thousand miles
starts from beneath your feet.
I have a ways to go to get back on a fulfilling path through life, but that path is right beneath my feet now and every day is a chance to walk along it.
